Who is this course for?
This course is an introduction to practical welding techniques and is suitable for beginners to welding or those needing to refresh their knowledge.
There are options for students to concentrate on welding techniques appropriate to them, with MIG, TIG and MMA options available.
Learning will take place in the well-equipped Ilkeston welding workshop.
There are no formal entry requirements.
What will you learn?
Individual units are available in the following welding techniques:
Only one technique can be covered during the course duration.
How will you learn?
This course will be delivered on-site.
What will you need to bring with you?
Students will require specialist PPE during practical activities.
How will you be assessed?
Assessment will be through:
- Practical activities
- Oral examination
Students can progress to the Level 2 City & Guilds welding programme.
Students can progress into welding careers.
