Course Information for Students

This course aims to train candidates in instructing sports conditioning programmes in order to improve exercise and sports performance.

It is scheduled to be delivered at Broomfield Hall over 18 weeks starting:

Friday: 17/09/21 – 4/07/22

Monday: 7/02/22 – 4/07/22

The course costs £277.50.

A minimum of eight candidates must be enrolled for each course to start.

All candidates must hold a Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instruction or the equivalent, a Level 2 Coaching qualification or a Level 2 Activity Leadership qualification which should be evidenced prior to starting the course.

All candidates must be physically active and able to undertake physical activity throughout the course.

There are two mandatory units to cover:

  • Principles of sports conditioning
  • Planning, delivering and evaluating sports conditioning programmes

During the course, candidates will grow to understand the role of a sports conditioning coach, the principles of programming for sports conditioning, sporting demands and how they can be used to inform effective sports conditioning programming, how to plan sports conditioning programmes to improve performance and how to instruct effective sports conditioning sessions.

This course will be delivered on-site.

There are no additional course costs.

You will be assessed via assignments, case studies and observations.
