Course Information for Students

This assessment is for candidates who have completed a formal approved study programme to allow entry for CMA1, aimed at meter installers working in industry.

You need to have completed a formal study programme – either Gas Meter Foundation or a previous suitable Gas qualification.  You might have to undertake extra work before taking the assessment.

The course entails assessment of competence for meter installation and replacements.

This course will be delivered on-site.

Candidates must have prepared for assessment and be proficient in all the areas for assessment.

Assessment involves the installation, replacement and decommissioning of meters and components.

Units include both practical and theory assessments: the practical takes place in simulated conditions while the theory elements are open book with multi-choice papers.

Normally MET1 would be undertaken at the same time as this unit.
