This course provides an introduction to health and social care, developing your skills for progression to further learning and ultimately employment.
It is made up of units that provide a broad introduction to working in care as well as specific units which offer a taste of care issues. There is also a focus on key transferable skills.
All applicants are assessed on an individual basis and an interview is essential. A GCSE profile of -E grades is desirable.

Developing your maths and English skills will support your main study programme, help your future progression and enhance your life skills.
There is continual assessment using a variety of methods such as written assessments, presentations, displays and practical activities.
You may be able to advance to the BTEC Level 1 in Health and Social Care - subject to good attendance, a good work rate and a positive attitude to study. You can also progress to further training opportunities.
