Course Summary

Do you have an interest in media? As an introduction to media, this course will provide you with an understanding of the production processes and technical skills used within creative media production. It will also allow you to develop an understanding of the skills necessary to both record and communicate your ideas, vital when planning a creative production.

The Level 2 Award will allow you to sample a media production course while studying for your GCSE English and/or Maths.

Entry requirements

You will need at least three 4/D grades or above at GCSE, along with a minimum grade 3/C in either English Language or Maths.  
If have not achieved your GCSE English or Maths at a grade 3/C, you will be required to study your GCSEs as part of your study programme.


Course Content

While studying this pathway, you will take two mandatory units.
The knowledge, understanding and skills you acquire on this pathway will enable you to develop your digital media production skills and techniques.
Units are:
  • Introduction to creative media methods and skills
  • Introduction to production techniques in creative media


  • GCSE English or Maths


How will I be assessed?

All units of work on this pathway will be assessed internally. You will be required to create a final major project where you will demonstrate the knowledge and understanding gained throughout your time studying the course.
