Course Summary

The Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership can help you progress to a senior role within the hospitality industry. You will broaden your existing knowledge and gain important leadership and management skills for working on events/functions and in other roles within the industry.

Entry requirements

You need a relevant qualification at Level 2 and a grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths or English and a grade 3 or above in Maths or English.

For mature students, relevant experience within the industry is essential.

Course Content

You will complete five core units:

  • Lead a team to improve customer service
  • Develop productive working relationships with colleagues
  • Provide leadership for your team
  • Contribute to the control of resources
  • Maintain the health, hygiene, safety and security of the working environment.

You can then choose a number of optional units from a wide range, for example:

  • Supervise functions
  • Supervise food production operations
  • Supervise drinks service
  • Contribute to promoting products and services
  • Supervise reception services
  • Improve the customer relationship

There are lots more options to choose from, too.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed and will carry out a variety of theoretical work.

A uniform will be required at an approximate cost of £100.

You could progress to an advanced apprenticeship or to study at degree level at university.
