This programme provides you with the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills for the plumbing trade. Featuring in-depth theory and specialist practical learning, it is designed for learners who are independent, committed and wish to advance in the industry.
While the course is for those who want to work as plumbers in the building services engineering sector, it should be noted that it does not make them fully qualified plumbers or plumbing and heating engineers.
As well as practical know-how, learners develop their skills in maths and English, which will support their main programme of study, help their future progression and enhance their life skills.
All learners will undertake an interview and a pre-assessment test in order to gain entry to this course. You will also need to hold a Level 2 qualification in Plumbing and GCSE English and Maths at grade C Higher or above.
The course allows you to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the plumbing and heating sector.
Candidates will be assessed via on-demand multiple choice tests - available through the City & Guilds e-assessment platform, e-volve - and via practical assignments.
Maths and English will be assessed through a controlled assessment or final exam.
You should provide Personal Protective Equipment. You may be entitled to financial support, depending on your circumstances.
The course allows candidates to progress into employment or to the City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing and Heating.
