Course Summary

This course develops your skills in working front-of-house within a hospitality environment, working at both the Derbyshire County Cricket Club and at our Roundhouse restaurant.  You will be part of our Derbyshire County Cricket Club Hospitality Academy, working in exciting surroundings and building up a wide variety of skills and experience.

Entry requirements

You will need GCSE qualifications at grade D (grade 3) or above in English and Maths. Applications from mature learners with relevant work experience are also welcomed.

It is essential that you show a commitment to maintaining high standards of attendance.

Course Content

You will cover a wide range of topics including:

  • Food safety
  • Developing skills for employment
  • Legislation in food and beverage service
  • Food and beverage service skills such as: serving food at the table, serving alcoholic and soft drinks, and preparing and serving hot drinks using specialist equipment

You will also develop your maths and English skills, which will support your main programme of study and help your future progression. You will also undertake work experience.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment will cover a variety of methods including assignments, tests and practical tasks.

Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required?

There will be an additional cost for uniforms.

What can I do after this course?

Further Study
 

You can progress to an Advanced Apprenticeship or a Level 3 course in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership.

Careers
 

You can pursue a career in a wide variety of front-of-house jobs.
