Catering is on the increase. Why not join our course and learn to create a wide variety of dishes to impress your family and friends? You'll have fun learning and cooking - without the stress of an exam.

This is a 12-week free course where you will create a variety of dishes and increase your knowledge and skills in preparation and cooking, health and safety, knife skills, working as a team and a variety of other areas.

Dishes you have made can be purchased at a very reasonable cost.

Entry requirements

You should be over 19 years of age.

Course Content

This is a practical-based, hands-on course where you will cover a wide variety of topics and gain a stepping stone into employment.

Some of the areas you will cover include:

  • Food Safety
  • Health and Safety
  • Team Work
  • Knife Skills
  • Preparation and cooking of a wide variety of savoury and sweet dishes

 

How will I be assessed?

Our experienced chef will be there to support you in making your dishes.

Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required?

The only cost will be chef's clothes. We can discuss with you where to purchase the clothing and the cost will be approximately £40.

You can purchase the items you prepare at a very reasonable cost.

What can I do after this course?

Further Study

You could consider the Level 2 course which is a 12-week course.
