This course is designed for those who are currently working - or would like to work - within the health and social care sector. It provides knowledge that may be applied to a wide range of job roles within health and social care settings.

The course develops your understanding of the principles required to ensure that an individual with learning disabilities is provided with high-quality person-centred care. It offers information on the principles of safeguarding and protection, an introduction to personalisation in social care, the principles of positive risk taking for individuals with disabilities, and awareness of autistic spectrum conditions.

It is a short course delivered via distance learning.

How will I be assessed?

To achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities, learners must successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the six mandatory units as detailed in the qualification specification. Written answers are assessed by the assessor.
