Course Summary

The Level 2 Award in Instructing Kettlebells is aimed at learners who already have knowledge and skills in fitness instruction to a professionally competent level. It will enable you to plan and deliver safe, effective kettlebell exercises and training sessions.

Courses are due to be delivered:

Tuesday September 11th 18.00-20.30 for 4 weeks

Tuesday October 16th 18.00-20.30 for 4 weeks

Tuesday November 27th 18.00-20.30 for 4 weeks

Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th December 9.00-16.00 / 9.00-12.00

Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th February 9.00-16.00 / 9.00-12.00

Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st March 9.00-16.00 / 9.00-12.00

Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th May 9.00-16.00 / 9.00-12.00

Entry requirements

You need a suitable Level 2 Fitness Instructing qualification e.g. Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing. Some experience of kettlebell training is useful.

The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential. Therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary.

It also involves an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at Level 2.

Course Content

This qualification comprises two units:

Unit 1 - Planning a Kettlebell Exercise Session

Unit 2 - Instructing a Kettlebell Exercise Session

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through the completion of worksheets and a formal observation of a kettlebell training session.

Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required?

You may wish to join the Evolve Fitness gym at Derby College. There are  discounted memberships available to you when you sign up to study this course.

What can I do after this course?

This qualification provides progression to Level 3 qualifications in Personal Training and can also provide progression to courses in other related areas such as Sports Massage.
