This Certificate enables you to develop your teaching and training skills. Perhaps you are a WBL practitioner delivering some off-the-job training, or training is part of your job role? Maybe you are a workshop demonstrator or coach? If training or teaching is in your job role, this engaging and practical course may be the course for you.
You will attend College one evening per week and will need access to 30 hours or more teaching or training during the course.
The course enables you to develop your practical teaching skills and engage with educational research and theories so that you exit as a confident and able teacher or trainer. You will be observed in practice three times to develop your teaching skills and this will inform your professional development plan.

Our courses require a minimum of 12 enrolments to run. You will be notified two weeks prior to the start date if the course is NOT going to run.
To be successful in this Level 4 qualification, you will achieve a minimum of 36 credits and will evidence your understanding of:
Working at Level 4 provides you with the opportunity to explore theory and apply it to your practice, so that you develop an evidence base for driving forward your teaching and training skills. You will be encouraged to try new strategies, take risks and reflect on these experiences, so that you become a reflective practitioner. You will engage in self-assessment against our professional standards and plan your own development.
You will engage in a variety of assessment methods, including written academic assignments, presentations, posters, reflective learning journals, a portfolio of professional practice and professional discussions. Assessment at Level 4 requires you to use academic sources and Harvard Referencing systems. We will work with you to develop and refresh your academic skills.
In addition, you will have three observations during the course which are graded to Ofsted criteria. To achieve this qualification, you will exit as a good teacher.
