Developed in partnership with FA Learning, the Award in Coaching Football is the first qualification on the football coaching ladder. By completing this award, you will be able to assist other more qualified coaches in delivering football coaching sessions to players of all ages.
The qualification provides you with an introduction to the practical and theoretical aspects of coaching football. You will develop an understanding of the safe, ethical and effective management and coaching of football.
Courses run throughout the county at different times during the year. Check with the Derbyshire County FA for dates of your nearest course.
You should have a keen interest in coaching and an understanding of the sport. You need to be at least 16 years old and have good communication skills.

The course will cover:
You will be assessed through the completion of coaching sessions, including their planning, delivery and evaluation.
You will also complete an emergency first aid and safeguarding qualification as part of the programme.
You will be supplied with course handbooks, coaching notes and materials. You are expected to have suitable kit for coaching, including football boots or moulds, shin pads and rain jacket.
