The purpose of BTEC Higher Nationals in Horticulture is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the horticulture sector and to adapt to a constantly changing world. These qualifications aim to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake them.
Candidates have to be over 18 and will need to have a Level 2 RHS or an equivalent qualification such as a Level 2 Diploma in Horticulture (distinction) or a Subsidiary Diploma at Level 3 with relevant industry experience.
The course involves continual assessment. Each module studied has on average four assessments.
