This apprenticeship is appropriate for people who hold a general administration post. You will need to be completing a range of administration tasks which may include using the telephone, data input, photocopying, filing and using office equipment.
The programme is a strong foundation for a rewarding career, boosting your confidence, abilities and promotion prospects.
The qualification is delivered and assessed in the workplace and you will be responsible for producing an electronic portfolio of evidence.
GCSE grades 9-3 in English and Maths - or the equivalent - are desirable.
In addition to having good literacy and numeracy skills, you will need to be well-motivated and self-disciplined.
You must be willing to use and maintain an e-portfolio of evidence.
The Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration contains six mandatory units:
There is also a range of optional units you will complete. These could include handling mail, providing reception services, producing business documents and using and maintaining office equipment. These will be decided by matching your job role to the list of optional units and selecting those for which you are able to generate evidence of your performance in the workplace.

For the vocational element of your apprenticeship, you will be assessed on the job, using a range of methods including the production of evidence such as case histories, work products, questions, witness testimonies, professional discussion and observations. These will be uploaded into an electronic portfolio.
You may need to attend the College on day release/block release in order to achieve your Functional Skills. This will be evidenced through the completion of end tests in each subject.
You may be able to progress to the Advanced Business and Administration Apprenticeship or perhaps consider a Customer Service or Management course.
You will be gaining more experience within your current role at work and can continue to progress your career in an office, business or management environment.
