Course Summary

The Advanced Apprenticeship in Plastering covers:

  • assisting with the organisation of resources
  • contributing to the progress of operations
  • establishing the occupational area
  • producing complex and defined plastering details

Entry requirements

You should have completed an Intermediate Apprenticeship framework in Plastering at Level 2 within your trade area and achieved your Functional Skills in English and Maths.

Course Content

You will study:

  • City & Guilds Diploma in Plastering (Level 3)
  • NVQ Diploma in Plastering (Level 3)
  • Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 2

Practical and theoretical tests will be delivered throughout the programme of study.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is through observation of practical work and additional on-site assessments are required to complete the NVQ Level 3.  You may be required to undertake real trade projects on which you will also be assessed. 

Maths and English skills will be assessed through a controlled assessment or final exam.

You will be allocated an assessor who will visit you on site and discuss your progress with you and your employer.

Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required?

Your employer will need to supply your safety footwear and any other Personal Protective Equipment you may need. The College will supply tools and any other equipment needed but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

What can I do after this course?

You can progress to Professional Construction qualifications as a full-time, part-time or apprentice learner or you can continue to advance your career within the industry.
