The Foundation Degree (FdSc) and final year top-up BSc(Hons) in Equine Science, Management & Training offers students an opportunity to develop a wide range of equestrian skills, alongside an awareness of current industry issues and scientific concepts. The programme is validated by the University of Derby, however it is entirely delivered and assessed at Derby College Equestrian Centre, Broomfield Hall

In recent years, we have offered our HE Equine students some fantastic learning opportunities, including equine dissections on site, guest speakers, training with National equestrian coaches, scientific conferences, equestrian careers & recruitment specialist, visits to equine veterinary hospitals and even work experience at Chatsworth International Horse Trials
  • Full time accommodation is available on site for HE Equine students
  • Degree students get priority DIY livery, should they wish to bring their own horse
  • Students are encouraged to train towards BHS Exams, alongside studying for their degree, which further enhances their employment prospects
  • Students are encouraged to develop their skills of inquiry and independent learning throughout the programmes, with the support of their tutors
