A Supported Internship is for those students who have an Education, Health and Care plan and who wish to exit College into employment.
Supported Internships aim to equip young people with the skills they need for work, through learning in the workplace.
Students will be supported by a Job Coach.
Students should want to work and have an EHCP (Education, Health and Care plan).
Students will already be studying at Derby College.
Students will primarily be developing work skills by learning in the workplace.
They will also be on a personalised study programme which includes English and maths skills.
Along with EHCP Outcomes, students will keep a work journal and assess themselves against targets that they set with their Job Coach.
Only if PPE is required within the workplace.
After a Supported Internship, you should be able to access paid employment.
