This Level 2 qualification is designed for new entrants to the industry, providing them with the basic skills and experience they need to pursue a rewarding career in electrical installation.
You need to undertake and pass an interview and aptitude test. You will also require three GCSEs at grade 4 in Maths, English and ideally a science or technical subject.
You will cover practical skills including conduit bending, wiring techniques and installation of components in the workshop. The following theory units will be undertaken:
Candidates will be assessed via practical assignments and on-demand multiple choice tests, which are available through the City & Guilds e-assessment platform, e-volve.
You will also complete a summative end assessment for the practical elements of the course.

Students will be required to purchase three polo shirts, a pair of boots and trouser overalls. They are also advised to purchase a course book for revision. It is recommended that learners purchase some tools to assist them in completing the practical elements of the course.
