If you have childcare responsibilities, don’t forget that Derby College has its own highly-rated modern day nursery.

Little Learners, based at Prince Charles Avenue, offers up to 54 full-time places for children aged from three months to five years.  This purpose-built facility is run by a team of fully-qualified Level 3 staff who offer quality care and education.

The nursery is registered in accordance with the 1989 Children Act and Ofsted’s Early Years regulations.  Indeed, an Ofsted inspection in March 2008 judged Little Learners to be outstanding for education and good for overall care.  See www.ofsted.gov.uk for the full inspection report.

Students, staff and private customers can use the nursery facilities.  A limited number of registered Community Childcare places (Nursery or Childminder) can also be made available to students in receipt of a means-tested benefit.  However, this is dependent on demand and individual circumstances.

Care to Learn funding is available to pay towards the costs of childcare for young parents who are 19 years old or under when they start their course at Derby College.  To view more details on the Care to Learn fund, please click here.

The Little Learners nursery is open from 7.30am - 6.00pm, 51 weeks a year (excluding Bank Holidays).
