Derby College is holding a series of open evenings to help young people consider their further education options this September.

Vocational courses will come under the spotlight on Wednesday January 20 at the event at the new Roundhouse campus between 5.30pm and 8pm when advice and guidance will be available on a wide range of subjects from care and hair to catering and engineering.

The Joseph Wright Centre, which is the base for all A levels and some vocational courses including music and media, will be open on Wednesday January 27 between 5.30pm and 8pm.

Land-based courses from animal care to horticulture will be under discussion at Broomfield Hall, Morley, on Tuesday February 2 between 5.30pm and 8pm.

And information on bricklaying and motor vehicle courses will be the focus of the open evening at Mason’s Place on Tuesday February 9.

Derby College Principal David Croll explained: “This is an exciting time for young people in the city and county who are thinking about their options after leaving school.

“There is a wealth of options open to young people and it is important that they take this time before the stress of examinations and course work really take hold to look at all the possibilities and talk to people who can advise them on the best route to take.

“The Roundhouse is now fully established as a state-of-the-art vocational campus joining the excellent facilities at the Joseph Wright Centre and Broomfield Hall and will soon be joined by the Johnson Building where some vocational areas will be relocated later this year.
