Tuition fees and finance

Full-Time Fees

The standard full time fee is £3070. However, different full time fees are charged by our partner awarding institutions. You are advised to contact the College for the latest information.

These fees apply to ‘home’ students only. International students are advised to contact the College’s International Office for fee details.

Full time undergraduates may apply for a Tuition Fee Loan, which will cover the cost of tuition fees. Students are asked to bring evidence from their LEA of acceptance for the loan when they enrol at Derby College.

Part-Time Fees

Part-time fees are shown in the Fee Guide of the prospectus. Please note that on some occasions, payment must be made to the Awarding Higher Education Institution.

Student Loans and Support

Full-time students are entitled to a Maintenance Loan to pay for living expenses such as accommodation, food, and course materials. The amount you receive will depend on how much of the new Maintenance Grant you are entitled to, and your household income.

The re-payment of your loan will not commence until the April after you have left Higher Education, and only when you are earning more than £15,000 a year.

As well as the Tuition Fee and Maintenance Loans, new full-time students from lower income households will be eligible for an income-assessed non-repayable Maintenance Grant of up to £2,765 per year. Part-time students may be eligible for a non-repayable grant of up to around £1180. An additional grant of up to £255 is available to cover books, travel and course expenditure. These grants are available to students who are studying the equivalent of at least 50% of a full-time course.
