William Chaplin
Has spent 40 years in the building industry and is presently Regional Manager for Buildbase Ltd Builders Merchants, former Director of the Builders Merchant Federation and Chair of their Education & Training Department for 10 years, also past Chairman of the National Home Improvement Council.
I am a governor because of my particular interest in furthering vocational skills in the construction sector. With my local and national knowledge of my industry, I have been able to support the College in many areas, eg. staff recruitment in construction, effective employer engagement and building projects for the College,s own property portfolio. I have always been proactive in my local community, in particular old inner city areas, and my involvement with the College is a natural progression for my interests.
