Please note that we can offer hand stripping if you require this for your breed of dog.

The College runs a commercial salon and all equipment within the salon is used on the course. You should wear sensible flat footwear and trousers/jeans. Protective aprons are worn when in the salon and they will be provided for your use on the day.

A mature student has praised a part-time Derby College course which allowed her to change career direction and launch the thriving business of her dreams.
Former dog warden Zoe Longdon, 43, said she gained essential support, skills and confidence at Broomfield Hall, while working for her City and Guilds Level 2 certificate in Dog Grooming.
Now Zoe is putting her knowledge into practice by running her own mobile dog grooming service called “Rovers Return”, from Newthorpe, Eastwood, Nottinghamshire.
She said level of training provided by lecturer Sue Oliver was above that which can be expected at Level 2 – and the course offered good value for money in comparison to the privately run equivalents she researched.
“I started in business last summer. Now I’ve got 85 clients and I’m going from strength-to-strength. I’ve achieved my dream and I’m loving every day.”
